Exhibit strength

|
I received the perfect email/blog from my friend Scott Anderson, who I've blogged about before. Scott teaches at lululemon athletica in Cherry Creek this Friday and I'm equally excited for the hardcore vinyasa yoga workout as I am for the thought-provoking words/inspiration that Scott brings to each class.

I couldn't help but share a quote Scott used in his email/blog post. It goes like this:

"Whatever your fate is, whatever the hell happens, you say, "This is what I need." It may look like a wreck, but go at it as though it were an opportunity, a challenge. If you bring love to that moment, not discouragement, you will find the strength is there. Any disaster that you can survive is an improvement in your character, your stature, and your life. What a privilege! This is when the spontaneity of your own nature will have a chance to flow. Then, when looking back at your life, you will see that the moments which seemed to be great failures followed by wreckage were the incidents that shaped the life you have now. You'll see that this is really true. Nothing can happen to you that is not positive. Even though it looks and feels at the moment like a negative crisis, it is not. The crisis throws you back, and when you are required to exhibit strength, it comes."
-Joseph Campbell

This quote could not have arrived in my inbox at a more relevant time. While myself and others have so many incredible blessings in our lives right now, there is struggle and uncertainty. My thoughts and prayers are with those who are struggling, whether grieving a loved one or battling cancer. The good news is, we all have an amazing amount of strength inside and it's during tough times that our strength becomes extremely powerful.

I recently witnessed strength and power on display while coaching/mentoring the Kappa Alpha Theta bike team during the winter training trip. The team trained hard in Florida and put their strength and power to the test. Enjoy these pics of during their Team Pursuit practice.
